Purgatorial Incarceration

... At least without the aid of illicit drugs. And after the torture I went through to produce this miserable piece, I feel that I need some! J/K... My drug of choice is life, (and a lot of Mountain Dew!)

So here you have it, another impossibility: An Acrostic Sestina!

You know only the good die young.
Ever must the old tell the tale.
So make out of life what you will,
Your youth passes much to quick!
Owed to yourself what you've missed,
Until your final time does pass.

Challenges of life as they pass,
Are rarely noticed when we're young.
Nor always something that's missed.
Do you so want to tell the tale,
Or have a life end way to quick?
Above all believe that you can!

Now some may say you never can.
Yet will you let that make you pass,
The single chance that's gone to quick?
However old, you still are young,
If in your heart you bear a tale.
Now tell! Don't let the chance be missed!

Given the odds you might have missed,
I'm telling you that you still can,
Find a way to tell your tale.
You're not lost when you let one pass.
One is allowed when you're young,
Unchain your heart now! Just be quick!

Please don't ever give up too quick,
Unless you want words to be missed.
That's the only reason when young!
You must use it while you still can!
Or soon now, when your youth does pass,
Untold will forever be your tale.

Reward us now please, with your tale!
Mine, I do know, has gone by quick!
I do hope you won't let it pass!
Nor could I bear it if my words missed,
Didn't show you that you still can,
Tell tales if you want to feel young.

Only those who don't try have missed.
I fear they knew not that they can,
Truly live a "Forever Young."

Touche', Chris. I am deeply, deeply impressed here - you're a braver man than I, I hate the regular sestina thing...this had to darn near kill you I'd bet. Great job, and great message also.

My God AGAIN! This is highly impressive.
Don't ever doubt your skill dear, not ever. Why do you always make me shake my head dumbfoundedly?
Fantastic message.

Blew my doors off you did and without the aid of hallucinogens I might add. Very, very well done.
