The Dark

Darkness as my cover
Night my only friend
I struggled to remember
What life had been like then

Sweetness found in kisses
Sunlights happy bliss
Memories from places
So different than this

Morning once so joyful
With love to share the day
But bliss alas has ended
I saw no need to stay

So I will sleep away the daytime
And dwell in misery
As the sun fades out of sight
The dark is all I see.
