You brought so much joy into my life
Since the first day I knew you.
Your friendship proved to be different from all the others
You seemed to understand me so well.

There was so much in common
Between the two of us
We were like sisters
And our friendship was so perfect.

Time passed quickly
And before I knew it
Half a year had passed
But then things began to change.

You told me you needed space
So I gave you all the space you needed.
Though I longed for your calls, calls I never received,
I didn't mind, I was willing to wait.

You changed even further,
But I was ready to accept you,
For people do change.
But you didn't seem to want me around anymore.

You made me feel unwanted,
And it hurt so bad, deep down inside.
I never expected you to become like that
But, people change.

You were a totally different person.
But I held it back.
I didn't want to tell you,
I didn't want to hurt you.

I tried my best to control my feelings,
To not show the hurt I felt.
But, it didn't work.
I had to tell you somehow.

People tell me to give it up,
But I refuse to, 'coz I trust in you.
But the hurt inside, I cannot bear
It haunts me everyday.

I begin to wonder,
Do you even care?
Do you know how I feel?
Have all those promises been empty promises?

All I can do now is to wait,
Wait patiently and understandingly.
To try to not hurt you.
To let you know that I've been here all this while.

But all I wanna let you know that,
No matter how much you've changed,
No matter how much hurt you've caused,
You'll still mean the world to me.
