You Left Again

You left again
it barely registered
that you were here
before you left again
That flash of lightning
blink and you miss
the kind where you
take the elevator
instead of the stairs
and your future
forever changer
for better or for worse
is never to be known

You have written a totally beautiful poem but also a sad one. Nothing more sad than when a love one leaves never reaching their full potential. Keep up the good work.

SO true. You can never know what would have happened because it didn't happen....but it could have. Very good writing.
