You asked for wealth
I gave you sun.
Its glory to behold.
But with a frown
you turned it down
and never saw it's gold.

You asked for beauty
so I plucked
a blossom from a tree
Then with a sigh
you passed it by
for you saw only me.

You asked of me
so many things,
demands I could not meet.
Though I would try
my love did lie
one step beneath you feet.

Another fine offering. You have a great talent. That must have been one hard hearted person not to know the treasure to be found under foot.

Wow....I really loved this piece of work. The format was great, rhyme and rythym very well done and it flows with the grace of a gentle stream!! Thank you for sharing, looking forward to more of the same.
