Morning sun draws up night frost
Crystal transmutes to liquid, then vapor, then gone
Morning sun draws up my spirit
Anguish transmutes to indifference, then peace, then gone
Februarys river flows wide, deep, and swift
Tugging at its bank, caressing my soul
Calling, urging, promising to share
Fluid, flowing secrets...
Solitude, antonymous with loneliness
Forest monarchs, free of human traits
Keep silent company
While speaking of higher things.
Westward the river sulks, dark and brooding
To the east she is joyous, dancing, reflecting
The radiant light of her rising Father
'Till guise of time--
Well equipped for mischief--
Works its cyclic reverse
Lo! Brilliance fades, darkness ignites
A long Distant Nearness stirs the heart
The Greatest Remembrance--laughs
At memorys inability to retrieve it
Yet, in love and compassion, imparts
A fragment of its sweetness.
Potpourri, of leaves, twigs and emotions
Long devoid of seeming life
Releases stirring fragrance of the Elusive Nearness
Beckoning, promising, receding.
Seasons of change, constant, unceasing
Mock the Changeless
Buffeting the heart and binding the mind.
Helios warmth comforts winters chilled cheeks
Heart thaws, that soul may swim
In liquid love
Ever observed
By the Distant Nearness
