(This is the sequel that several requested I write)

The Dragon and the Maiden (Part II)

The dragon touched the maiden fair
His talons raked through her red hair
“Come with me to my lair so gray
Your beauty bright will lead the way
Let my eyes upon you feast
You the beauty, I the beast
Let me have you as my own
I’ll show you love you’ve never known”
She shuddered once and then she sighed
Her feelings she could no longer hide
“Your words they intrigue and excite me
But I worry that you may bite me”
The dragon listened with open ear
To sounds of hoof beats drawing near
“Hurry dear, you must decide
Safe upon my back you’ll ride”
She turned her head and into sight
Came a handsome, armored knight
“Unhand her beast,” he drew his sword
“I’ll protect you maiden, I give my word
Leave his side and run to me
Hurry princess, it’s time to flee”
The maiden stood between the two
And wondered what she should do
The knight was handsome, true and brave
But the dragon offered what she craved
She looked to the left and to the right
At the dragon and then the knight
Then turned to the dragon, grabbed her sack
And jumped onto his scaly back
Around his neck, her arms did cling
As he lifted off on outstretched wing
The knight just stood there in surprise
A questioning look left in his eyes
With that the dragon flew away
The knight left to fight another day
There is a moral to this tale
So take heed guys and listen well
Before rescuing maidens that you see
First make sure they wish to be

BRAVO!
Well done, Hoot, and a message all of us "knights" should take heed of.

I'm sorry to see it end. You did a wonderful job.

That was a wonderful story!! I enjoyed this read very very much. I am going to print it for my little boy.. he loves dragon stories. He never cheers for the knight! Ha maybe there is a poem in that.

Again, wonderful job!
