It was 13 years ago that his mother handed
him to me for the very first time. He was
so tiny, I was just happy that he was
healthy, and he was mine. He was thrashing
his Arms, and legs, and wiggling his fingers, and toes,it brought me such joy, more than anyone knows. This perfect tiny brand new life.
As time passed he really stared to grow,
more, and faster than any of us could know.
Everyone kept saying to me, he sure does look
like you, as time passed, I saw the words
they spoke were true. One afternoon when he
was just learning to sit up on his own, I was
so impressed with how he had grown.
My son looked into my face, that is when I
got my biggest surprise, he was smiling at
me, and looking at me with my own eyes. At
that very moment I stood, and stared, it
made me realize how much I loved this child,
how much I cared. My pride soared to it's
highest heighths, I prayed to God to bless
my child, all of his days, and nights.
Much has changed between then, and now, all
this time has passed. I've asked myself how?
He is tall, almost as tall as me, almost the
same in size.
Only one thing will never change, he will
always look at me with my own eyes.

What a beautiful tribute to your son. It
does make our heart grow when we can see
ourselves in our children.

Richard, one thing worth pointing out is that you always add a surprise ending.

You wrote:
"Only one thing will never change, he will
always look at me with my own eyes."

........very, very good ending. Applauding you on this.
