Recently I've developed an interest in the longer poems, seems more like work, more satisfying somehow. Anyway, I've been approached about writing an Epic. I have no idea where to begin (creation myth?). If there is a standard structure, I'd like to know. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

My advice would be to look to Homer. On a scaled back basis, of course. I have a feeling you will do well. My only concern is your rather "dark" side [hey, we all have sides] and the subsequent feelings you would pass on to younger readers. But those are just my thoughts, and I am sure everyone will be looking forward to your efforts.

Take care.

Sunshine, the Dark is more comforting than the Light. Think of the womb, not the tomb. Thanks for the advice, though.

DE: humm, well, this could become a debate. How do things grow in your garden of dark? And I know I've done far more stretching outside the womb than in. Ahh, the mixing of worlds and philosophies...more to succeed for all of us.
