Some friends last for a lifetime, while others blow away with the wind
And when the wind starts blowing, and you get going, then I know you weren't a real friend
Some friends appear when you're smiling,
and then vanish when a frown begins
But a real friend is there through the trying times, when the sun don't shine, and will be there through the end
Some friends listen wholeheartedly, while others haven't an ear to lend
But when I need to confide, and you're right by my side, then I know I've found a real friend
