Ring Of Fire
By Paul Wilson

Light the ring of fire
Let it burn long and bright
Heed calling of the flame
Stars beckon me tonight

I’ve seen tomorrows light
From beyond the stars
Light the ring of fire
So we can explore the quasars

Further and further we go
Into the unknown we are drawn
Searching for our beginning
Before coming of the dawn

What will we learn
If we find another race
Will they embrace us
Show us their universe

The stars light our pathway
To what we are searching for
Yesterday becomes tomorrow
Is there anything more?

Time stands still in the abyss
Of our decaying world
The need to move on
Look for another world

I’ve touched the ring of fire
I’ve traveled beyond the stars
I’ve seen distant worlds
Venus, Jupiter and Mars

What awaits us we’ll never know
No end in sight on this distant flight
Follow the ring of fire by day
Follow the distant stars by night

Well done, Paul. Even old geezers like our selves still dream, and ask "What if...".

Of course from the Title I immediately
thought of the song "Ring of Fire' by
Johnny Cash, & my fav. version by; 'Home-Free
., but I soon found out it was a wonderful
celestial journey on life by Poet Paul.

Thanks for the good read..

Sky~

Definitely an interesting subject for a poem and very well done. I personally do not adhere to the idea of alien life, not least because science itself (physics) demands an immediate cessation of all such speculation. But it is always fun to think about "what if", and dream a little upon the stars.

Paradox...Thanks for taking time to read and reply, I appreciate it.

Not sure of what you mean by the following comment

"science itself (physics) demands an immediate cessation of all such speculation "

So if I am reading you right if it can't be explained by science it more than likely doesn't exist
