Sometimes I tend to glamorize-
The life which I once knew.
The grass appears a bit more green,
The skies a deeper blue.

Emotions somewhat deeper than-
They seemed in distant time,
And momentary passions-
It seems were more sublime.

The strength of youth that I recall-
Was maybe not that strong…
Perhaps my few attainments,
Weren’t immortalized in song.

The tawdry truth of escapades
I finally realize-
Were products of a dreamer’s mind-
And just a pack of lies.

Escapades being the keyword to me.  So meaningless in hindsight!  The here and now is a peaceful place to be.

Can imagine this sung to a guitar and with a voice like Cash. Nice.
