Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I’ve got a lucky Penny.
She almost didn’t make it,
She is the sole survivor
of a litter of seven.
We had to take it
away from her mom
and bottle feed her.
Poor little thing, so skinny.
Took a bit to get
used to the bottle,
but when she did,
she ate like a pig
until she was rolly polly.
Growing like a weed,
she learned to walk
in a weebly wobbly way.
Too soon she began to run
and get into everything,
that little pooper.
We bought a rug shampooer.
Soon she was lapping from a bowl
of puppy formula and bits of bread
to fill her little belly.
She is finicky about her food,
has to be just the right temperature
to feed her.
She doesn’t want it if it’s grown cold.
Just a few seconds in the microwave
and she is good as gold.
A full tummy and she starts to yawn,
some kisses and cuddles and she is gone
out like a light.
Now if she could just sleep through the night….

Oh my...I have two lil rollie pollies myself.  About 3 years old now...but I've have them since they were just a few weeks old.  This very much reminded me of them.  Very finicky, though they do have my sleep schedule down now though.  I count that a double blessing.

Michael,
My rollie pollie is 4 1/2 weeks old. Soon as this snow melts, we are going to try to start house breaking her. Or just start calling her Puddles and Piles. LOL. ~L

Yann,
Thanks for the read and comment. Yes! Just like a baby. Did you know that when you bottle feed them you then have to burb them too? She is eating on her own now. ~L

Hey Jimmy!
She is a cutie for sure. Her markings on her face give her a sad sack look that will break your heart! Thanks!

Sky,
My little love bug is teething and wants to chew on everything (including me). She is still too little to eat a Milkbone so when she tries to bite I stick it in her mouth and she will gnaw on it for a little bit, but she obviously prefers me. Thanks ~L
