O’ would it be that I could flee
into the bosom of all knowing,
from a caustic pained agnostic
to warm soothe of candle’s glowing.

A photograph, a young child’s laugh,
it all seems simple; simply when,
as memories fade of childhoods played,
and lost within is now and then.

No tick of clock, or second’s tock,
no timeline to be reading,
hours and days in endless plays,
before the tides’ receding.

Months and years hide endless fears,
in seek I lose all bearing,
what price to pay? one cannot say,
enshrouds my soul ensnaring.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
I fell down and hit the ground,
questions asked, solutions sought,
no answers to be found.

Epicurus' trilemma,
far beyound of mortal ponderings,
where to journey for solutions,
no destination for one's wanderings.

A race once ran now run its course,
no finish line to which traverse,
what was once an end in sight,
is now in fog of long held curse.

Love the style Tim.  A little hard to comment on the poem though, without opening a can of worms on the "Epicurus' trilemma" perspective.  Definitely feeling vibes of frustration and loss of hope though.  I relate well to those emotions.

Great job. A lot of thought went into this one. Great usage of words.

This is a thought provoking piece Tim and well phrased and because of the trilemma and Jack and Jill ( Louis X1V )reference...one may think of how we are all closer to a bleaker reality, where our future will no longer be as hopeful as when
we knew we could count on stemming the tide of autocracies that spread...the new absolute monarchs

A poem that ensnares your reader to ponder each and every line.  Thanks, Tim - Good timing
