'Tis the night before Christmas and I'm alone
My spirit is cold and I'm chilled to the bone
All is quiet except my memory
Which reminds me of how it used to be

I lovingly hang all the stockings with care
Overwhelmed with sadness for yours won't be there
My eyes mist up and tears slowly start to fall
For Christmas should not be like this at all

The children are all snuggled down for the night
Yet the sparkle in their eyes is not as bright
They too have memories of Christmas Eves past
Clinging to the moments to make them last

I'm in my night~gown sitting by the fireplace
Aching to feel once more your warm embrace
My fingertips trace my lips where once you kissed
As my heart wonders if you know that you're missed

Through the window~pane I sit and watch it snow
When all of a sudden I see a bright glow
I spring from my chair and look up to the sky
And there hangs one lone star beaming on high

It twinkles at me as if we are old friends
I am overcome by the comfort it lends
As I gaze up towards the Heavens above
My heart fills with peace and your infinite love

As quick as it came it then slipped away
Yet the solace it gave to my heart will stay
Taking one last glance where it faded from sight
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good~night

Merry Christmas in heaven my darling  <3

THIS is just simply beautiful even though sad to the heart. I so wish you brighter, fuller days to ease into your life.

Your poetry is an extraordinary demonstration of faith...
quote:
"As I gaze up towards the Heavens above
My heart fills with peace and your infinite love"
May your heart always be filled with peace and love, Miss Pinky. If you ever run short, I keep an extra bottle on hand. Just go out to the light and make a left. You know the rest of the way...

Speak'n of 'ways', how about you and I takin' a little wintry stroll down that snow-covered lane, then brush the fallen flakes from the seat of that bench and tell what we know about poetry to one another?
I might need a little help with directions though. I'll bring the Schnapps!

Brightest of Blessings, my friend.
