"Saturday"

With all the political discussion going on
Maybe it’s a good idea to take the day off
Go to a nice lake and look for a swan
Write a poem on it so good you blastoff.

(I know blastoff isn’t a verb and didn’t feel like using “blast off”. Enjoy!)

"blastoff" works for me, Cerulean. It is better as one word than two seperate ones.

We all need a break sometimes, Cerulean.

Jerry- Thanks for the vote of confidence on that. It's called poetic license!

I try my best to keep politics separate from poetry, family and friends too. Anyway, glad the poem made you smile. Thanks for your comment!

Edit: forgot to mention... regarding best writing places, you make a good point. It's very important to find your ideal writing place(s) to maximize your imagination's potential. Lakes and ponds are two of the best places for writing. I've been there, done that too.
