   Appalachian Dawn

Cool-bright clouds
hugging dark hilltops.
Luminous spectral fog
all as yet painted in
condensed moonlight.
A loon's cry shatters
   the silence
over bare-bone trees
   and rocks,
'Deep-Time' sentinels.
Quintessential loneliness ...
then a perfect sunrise!

From stark isolation which mesmerizes into a beautiful dawning of the day. Excellent

A good, calm read. I especially liked the last three lines:
quote:
'Deep-Time' sentinels.
Quintessential loneliness ...
then a perfect sunrise!
It paints a vivid picture in mind. Thank you.

Many thanks to each of you for commenting on this particularly li'l "poetic scribble!"

These ancient 'endless' hills of old Appalachia have always been my primary sensei (teacher) and muse (inspiration) ..
