Imprisoned as a captive thought
dreams lay in my hopes for tomorrow
Morning's fragrance so sweet and clean,
remain moist with tears of sorrow

Should in passing would we meet,
inclining to be gracious,
much more each one of us could see
how strong our love had made us

Without your touching gift for word,
my pen lays uninspired
Ghostly figures impressed in pulp,
tell sadly of spent desires

Like scattered leaves in tortured breezes,
so my poetry has fled
All my memories once so vibrant,
lay still now amongst the dead

ooooh! That was absolutely haunting...Like a tune stuck in your head...the emotion it evokes...you plunge a knife...then twist it.
the pain is perfect. ~L

Such dreams, in my experience, have a way of returning, my friend . . . New Seasons and Old Seasons - my dreams tend to be both.

Thanks j for your comments and the benefit of your dream experiences. Much obliged.

The reality is that it was only a movie.

Good read Bluesy. A lamentation of loss that sears the heart.

This one goes straight to my heart - especially the last verse.

I've said many times that I can't write happy - those voices in my head stay silent when the heart is singing. But pain can go deep enough that there aren't any words to do it justice... and death certainly inflicts that pain.

Beautiful, thought-provoking write!

Thank you Ruth. I know it's tough after Toe's passing as it also is for dear Margherita, Michael, Seymour, Karen and others. May they all rest well.
