you know you’re gonna die
why then
do you cry and moan
doctor’s pills, needles, x-rays, etc.
can maybe prolong it
into your senility of old age
where you re quite alone
the are from that other world
that world you left
you mind is a jumble
can’t think straight
they have you in this place
people paid (very little)
to watch over you
change out your Depends
sometimes
wish you could return
to that day
when death came to call
but the doctors
with their smart pills,
putting the brakes on death
and now you sit there in your own waste
nobody notices you
no one cares
what would you give
to go back when death called
you would welcome it with open arms
but not to be
but not to be

Absolutely!

So many good, reasonable thoughts Mr. Bolton. It take courage to know when the jig's up and surrender to our natural and most certain demise. Carpe Diem!

Just out looking for the real me...

Nope!  Not me! Living is what I'm all about. I've had two very close brushes with the Golden Gate or Hell's Fires (Hell's Fire for sure in at least one case - - - Ha!)and, friend o'mine, I've no desire to cross over either bridge.

I've known many who would agree with you 100% though - a couple I'd even help get there if I could . . .

Good piece, my friend, as usual ...

I completely understand, j. It is a very difficult problem to make. I know how I think about it, and so I put my thoughts into a poem. Thank you for the read and your thoughts.

Yes, we'd all like to exit with marbles in tact and continent. But our exit is as big a surprise as our entrance. The only difference is we can expedite our exit. ~L
