Stranded in a Doorway

I'll pick you up and take you out
and let you down with just a shred of doubt
I'm stranded in a doorway
trying to think of everything I can't do without

The show starts at 7 PM
a peek inside my head every now and then
I'm stranded in a doorway
my insides are hollow, it's just dust and rain

On my kitchen table
there's crumpled list of all I can be
if I'm willing and able
but of all these demons overtaking me
I'll wish you were the one to set me free

Where the hell am I going
what has led me here
your heart is showing
and I'm counting on mine to reappear

Collecting my thoughts in a doorway
in love there is nothing I can do without
walking through another doorway
leaving behind this dust and rain and doubt

Lights up at the curtain call
a series of motions relive the fall
of a fool once framed by the doorway
now there's just footsteps in the hall

And with all these angels overtaking you
I hope you know I'm sorry, I know not what I do
I want you to know I'm sorry, I'm a man in search of a clue

This really struck in a deep place. To be honest I think see a man I know in this. Enjoyed!

Really liked this. It drew me in. The doorway is cut out for whats waiting for you. Fear nothing and become the wall or walk through that door fearless. I felt something familiar about your poem. Too many slammed doors and thick walls you need a bridge.
