Fair to middlin' of nowhere

It seems odd to me,
as one who suffers from anxiety,
that this pandemic
doesn’t have me in a panic.
It hasn’t triggered a depressive episode
and made my mind implode.
If you can’t stop the tide, you know,
you just go with the flow.
I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it,
one way or another I’ll get through it.
But it has occurred to me
I’m doing one thing differently.
I’m taking pictures of everything I see
that reflects a part of me.
For example, the front porch spring ready,
from my walk holding the leash steady.
Perhaps my subconscious is saying
“today needs saving”
for I may be gone
before too long.
I have no way of knowing.
But I do have a way of showing
those that would remember me
a bit of authenticity.
