Dream Tales~

Dreams hung in tapestry,
Danced and spent
Across meadows of
Starry tents,
Carefree copper dreams
Flung down wishing wells,
Ribbons of dreams
Some galloping air,
Some braided, others
Dangling the corners
Of sleep,
Sometimes knotted, and
Lost.

What will you give me
For these wistful conundrums?
What can you trade
For these azure wonders
Skating the frozen tears
Of someone's season..

Hand-me-down dreams with
Patched pastel sails,
How they drift in search
Of another current,
A far away land
Through fresh green eyes.

I watched them go..
Floating..
Floating still
Down Nodaway river
Towards the inevitable lure
Of the horizon,
I had once adored them,
Then stoned them,
Finally, my knower said
Release..
Left not with a dreamless-head,
Just a more fitting
Hat full of rain,
To quench an
August sky
Thirst..

Your poetry always tells a much broader story than the few words ascribed to it.  This one seems especially steeped in emotion.  Justifiably so I would say as dreams tend to encompass two worlds at once.  I know people who have squeezed the life out of their dreams.  I also know some who've let them go to embrace the anguish of having none to follow.  Maybe dreams aren't meant to be permanent as so many of us wish to make them...I wonder if the happiness they give might be better held on to by not trying to squeeze them, but just enjoying them while they are with us and appreciating them for what they are.

I loved where this went and I loved watching it go. It will ring inside my head for a while like a beautiful bell. I enjoy reading you and am looking forward to whatever you have up your sleeve next.

Another example of the beauty I expect when I click on one of your entries, Sky. Beautiful words, exquisitely crafted.
