Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Changing is always a risk.
Messing with the medication
that messes with your mind
can get interesting,
Not a venture
I enter into lightly.
I know it could be worse.
There is only one way
to find out.
Then wait and see…
and wonder,
is it the meds or me?
Then there is that darn
placebo effect to contend with.
It is a mixed blessing.
Wanting so much to feel better
that you look for anything
to support the feeling
it is working.
It will take a month
to take full effect.
It is the betwixt
and between
of going off one
while going on another,
in the midpoint
of not enough of either,
I find worrisome.
It is just part of it.
So here we go
every morning with food.
And as long as I’m stirring the pot,
Might as well try something else too.
A list of side effects
as long as my arm,
I’m willing to risk
to alleviate my apnea fatigue.
I’m not expecting it to go well.
But, boy howdy, if it does!
It would be a life changing miracle.
I won’t hold my breath.
But I’m hopeful.
Just creating change
gives anticipation,
that in turn
uplifts the spirit.
I find I’m already
changing again.

I feel you on this one, Lori.  Nothing scarier than changing medicines.  Side effects = shivers!

Parker,
I'm glad this tickled you. That tells me something about my writing. For as much as the drug companies profit, they could put some of that into R&D for say a blood test for drug compatibility. ~L

Sky,
That hug hit the spot! Thanks for telling me my voice is an echo of others. I sometimes feel when I write this way that it is from a pity pot pulpit perspective. If that makes any sense. Your support means a lot. {{hug}} ~L
