Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Cold weather coming.
Everyone is grumbling
they are not ready
for winter’s preview.
Snow mix is the forecast
we are dreading.
I’ll take the snow
you can keep the ice.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed
for a snow day,
so I won’t have to
drive in it on the highway.
I can take the cold,
I’m well insulated.
I love my long sleeves
and a sweater,
wearing boots even better.
So let the cold come,
I’ll do just fine.
A blanket of white
with a snow plow and some salt
and I’ll be alright.
Damn the ice
and its black treachery,
scares the hell out of me.
Just walking I could slip
and break a dimpled hip.
Cold weather coming
with anxious anticipation.
I prefer snow
to icy precipitation.

Lori - Thanks for the winter warning. I started unpacking sweaters, boots, socks, insulated parkas, snow caps etc. and surprisingly I'm starting to feel warm already and I haven't even left the house. Much enjoyed your get-warm words Lori. Namyh

Sky,
We are bracing ourselves for the first storm of the season, but they keep changing the forecast. Hopefully it will wait until I get home from work. ~L

52 degrees here in Florida this morning. I'm loving it after so many 90+ degree days. The only snow I've ever seen is what little falls here every 20 years or so.
Enjoyed this 😊

CarolineToo,
You can keep your heat-I'd melt in a heap. I barely survive the summers in Kansas. Thanks for the comment! ~L
