In keeping with the season..

Wildfire~

She came to him on the night of a killing frost
on a horse named Wildfire, moonlight tangled
in her hair.

He awoke to hooves thudding upon the path,
the ache of wanting to be inside her,
but it is the time of the witch,
loneliness howls the wind,
cold feet wearing wet leaves,
a frozen tear..
she is long gone from this world.

An October-Sleepwalk
repeated always
round this time of year.

We'll be riding Wildfire...

I always liked the song, and I love your spin on it. Lovely write, milady. I will never hear the song again without thinking of you.

Exquisite...haunting and melodious.  Fell in love with the Wildfire song when I was just a kid, learning what a gift to the soul music could be.  It's amazing how music has the power to perfectly encapsulate a moment in time...bring you a crystal clear reflection of a previous moment in time that might otherwise, without said music, be hazy and/or imperfect.

Someone once told me a haunting is a need manifested in the mind of the haunted.  Of course that someone was a ghost, so what could they know?

M.I so agree with your take on music
capturing a moment..& the chain reaction
from there. You so schmart you are.

Thank you for the in depth reply Poet,
means a lot to me.

I loved the song Wildfire the first time I heard it, and I really like the way you've continued it.  Nicely done.
