One Long Kiss

He had known her for a long time
yet he had rarely known sweeter moments than this
and now he wondered how long he could linger
in the pleasure of her kiss, her lips always
seemed like they were made to kiss
yet time and again she had never offered a kiss,
she kept saying she was only a friend,
in fact she would insist and resist;
it seems in her past there was a time when
she had fallen in love with a French sailor
after they had shared many a kiss
and then she told me "that sailor had
fallen in love with the sea and sailed
far away never returning to me."
How softly she missed that Frenchman's kiss,
how sweetly she cherished his missed kiss,
a kiss she thought for the rest
of her life she would sadly miss;
so she was careful not to suffer again,
not giving her heart, only remaining friends
so that was why she was kiss shy,
and though I tried many times
she would tell me time and again
we will only remain friends
until this very night
when she finally gave in
and in the bliss of that kiss
we became more than friends.

As I read your fine-tuned prose JamesMichael, I kept hearing "Brandy, you're a fine girl" in the background.

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...

James - This little gem has its own gravitational pull, and its force hurled me back to moments long ago when the Earth was younger. Well crafted intensity James and thanks for the memories. I'm feelin' much better. Namyh
