Fair to middlin' of nowhere

A warm curl
of golden purr
upon my lap,
leans ears into
scratching fingers.
Eyes closed,
she melts into
that sweet spot
of feline bliss.
Her back foot twitches,
wanting to reach up
and join in the scratch fest.
She shakes her head,
flinging drool,
then gives me a love bite
and a lick on my hand
to say thank you.
We cuddle together
quiet and content.

Ahhh . . . You have absolutely made my day with this jewel, Lori.

I have a beautiful red main-coone and tabby mix. She is a quiet diva and also the world's greatest comforter. She has saved me more than a few times with an insistent tap of her paw on my hand, face, or shoulder when I start to spiral. I can never capture her with words. You have captured the scene well here. The words feel sweet and relaxing.

Temptress,
This is a golden oldie. Thank you for making the effort to read it. Mizz Kitty has inspired a few poems, bless her heart. ~L

Laughing that the two very most cat people I know are here gushing over their kitties.

This really is precious Lori.  I haven't had a cat in some 10 years...*jealous.

Michael,
Don't tell the cat, I'm really a dog person. Fortunately for me she has some dogish qualities. We got her for my daughter who couldn't take the cat with her when she moved out. Dennis is really more smitten with her then I am, but then again she isn't always taking over his lap and sharing bathroom time.
