They say he’s a poet, but he doesn’t know what to say
They say he’s an actor, and he’s living this play
They say he’s a writer, but what should he write?
They say he’s a seer, but he’s lost all his sight!

What kind of crime is it?
He refused the dare
They ask him, “what time is it?”
He don't know and don’t care!

Run away, fly away into the night
Yes, he’s a fighter but he forgot how to fight
They say that they want to make it all right
Then send him to sleep and turn out the light!

They know that he’s deaf,
and they know that he’s blind
He says what they want,
but what's not on his mind!

They say he’s a poet, but he doesn’t know what to say

Whats's with the bad mouthing your buddy Max?
Deaf and blind? Really? I don't know who "they" are but they don't seem to know him very well. Tell Max not to listen to 'them' nor to change a hair on his head.
