the prophetess' words
weave a web
holding the host hostage
falsifying
her position
above
all
else

sensing internal conflict
the wolves creep closer
the flock is exposed
unaware
blinded
where is the Shepherd?

we have need
of direction
where is the Shepherd?

Oooh, where is the Shepherd indeed, luminosity. Your words made me think of the book I am reading, "The Harvest," by Scott Nicholson. Oh yes, where is the Shepherd for sure.

thanks Jerry, it seems my logically required thinking for my IT job has killed  my muse, but...if I can eeeeek out one now and then, I can still call myself a poet

Ah, the writer as the flock, the wolves as 'the  block' and the shepherd as the muse. That's so good. An image that will stick.
