the sheets flapped and puffed out
on the clothesline
in the backyard all day
I lay in the ditch
setting my toy soldiers up
for the coming battle
to the background sound
of sheets snapping in the wind
a good sound

sounds of bliss
even with the threat of war
somehow we survive

Remember when sheets flapped in the wind. Lovely sound...and smell. Thanks for the memory, Jerry.

A time of innocence...the sheets in the wind.
Nice JP, enjoyed.

An innocent child listening to the sheets in the wind, never imagining he would someday grow up and find himself 3 sheets to the wind.  Good write my friend!

All seems right and sounds right in a world where flapping sheets play the rhythm of a sunny day.
Love your nostalgia here, dear Jerry! Very neat and familiar.
