age creeps upon us
sometimes causing our hearts
to slumber
to frustrate our dreams
and our thoughts are dissolved
until there is only a silhouette
of the original to draw upon

my heart does not sleep
no, it is fully alive and awake
it accompanies my dreams
yes, I still have dreams
still . . .
I understand
my heart monitors other viable things
paying attention to
infinite warning signs
on the lip of the cosmic stillness

You have the coolest endings! This is no exception.
