my gawd, jerry I never thought it could happen to you my gawd man your arms have shriveled away those muscles you used to have remember now, in their place are small little bumps where there used to be muscle on the other hand you’re not bed-ridden yet although your knees sometimes wants to go out on you and when you’re walking sweet Zoe you’re panting near the end and your mind some days seems to be almost gone plus the memory loss drives you quite insane eh . . . but you haven’t been stuck in one of those horrible nursing homes sitting in a wheelchair dribbling what is left of your life down that bib they gave you to wear you should be happy you’re in much better shape than so many who have the same problems and age as do you emphysema for one you’ve had fifteen years maybe longer what’d you say about that memory loss not to forget high blood pressure and lest we forget enlarged prostate and of course hyperthyroidism hyperventilation too . . . oh you take enough drugs both prescription an across-the-counter (no more street drugs) that if you wasn’t on medicare you would most certainly be quite dead oh, lest we forget you take medicine for nervous disorders and of course treatment for pain somedays’ you’re surprised to awake every friggin’ day my gawd, Jerry ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
