Fair to middlin' of nowhere

If she come to you
don’t turn her away
Listen to what
she has to say
Don’t bother
about the past
The time is now
and now won’t last
It could be
your daughter
instead of mine
so give her the time
you would want
me to take with yours
(should the need arise)
Protect and comfort
my child from
the hateful mean
ne’r do wells
that plague her
Defend her honor
Defeat the lies
Take the sadness
from her eyes

After reading your other post today, "Show No Mercy," and your comment responses I can well understand the need for you to write this poem reaching out to anyone who may come into contact with your daughter. I sincerely hope she can find peace and thwart the haters. Feeling sorry for her.

Thanks Jerry
I feel sorry for her too. This was written about my concern that her teachers may not know what is going on and blow her off if she comes to them for support.  I had a vice-principle contact her teachers. I dread tomorrow...Rumor has it something is "planned" aimed at her.

I sincerely hope the rumor is wrong. If the teachers are notified maybe they can thwart it.

They are doing all they can. The Administration has been very supportive. We have talked about coping strategies for tomorrow.

If she's like her Mom, she has a strong constitution. When I read or hear about these situations, it always makes me want to be a kid again.

Anyone who reads this post(or Jerry's) will join in the support of an amiable conclusion to the crisis.

Apparently the threat of a 5 day out of school suspension has cooled things down considerably. I guess THAT part isn't so funny. So far so good!
