Today is something of an 'anniversary' for me, so I used up my '3-poem limit to post this writing that I penned for my youngest daughter (I have 3 girls, but lost my boy when he was about to turn 17) when she was feeling a little down. We often wrote little poems and sang together. Thanks for reading!

when I read your words
I think of all the things
that come in cans

they store easily
don't take up too
much space
and are always fresh
when I want to
eat them up

sometimes they’re happy words
that taste sweet and sassy

sometimes they’re sad words
that are moist
and tear filled

I want those the most
because if I eat those words up
they'll be gone
and then only the happy
cans of words will be left

I'll share
the happy cans
with you
and take all the
sad cans you may fill

I'll only share
those sometimes though
...if I too am feeling blue

...just bein' Bluesy

This is a wonderful poem meant for a daughter, Blue. It is precious to have this kind of warm relationship with her.

There is a lightness of the heart here to be detected and yet it is deeply poignant. A wonderful poem for your daughter. I doubt not that you are adored by your daughters, as you share joy as well as sadness, love, compassion. The common grief for the loss of your son must have deepened your bond, which goes beyond this dimension and includes your son, forever.

Enjoyed reading your loving words.

Maybe it is just me today, sniff sniff, maybe it is just me, sniff sniff.  This is beautiful.

This is different from you BS. I really like the wordplay. I can see how endearing this must have been. Very cool!

Touch, but don't look
