"I’M A BIT OF A P. T. BARNUM. I MAKE STARS OUT OF EVERYONE.”
(Donald Trump)

"There's a sucker born every minute."
(P.T.Barnum)

Not liars-but colonizers, in the country of truth.
Most of what they say, the crowd believes,
( Proof doesn't matter.) Yet still they repeat
What's been, and what's now fed to them-
On, and on they spit up old pabulum-
Even though their histories porridge is insipid,
Simplistic-and has been proven bland, in taste,
They do not seek more salt, or sugar.

Meant to impress, sounding profound, fancy suits
Predispose all to remain resistant to new becomings;
The hyperbolist must keep their camouflage from slipping,
And exposing themselves as obfuscates of irelevents-
In political language, constructed to impress
With nonsensical profundity, what
The *mud show deems as the clear exposition of truth.

The listeners judge words the ring master speaks,
That tells them what they already know,-discern
From their inner ideals, what the speaker claims,
And instead of being skeptical,
Become conspiratorial
In the half truth ideation of the carnival barkers
Impressive sounding pleads.”

*mud show- a circus of small tents-no bigtop.

Couldn't agree more, Ice, and they have been doing as you say long, long before The Trump.

I have to be careful as America is not my country so I will just say that broadly speaking, we both see eye to eye.
What we find confusing in Europe is that America hasn’t begun to embrace a move to more socialist policies that Europe has in the main adopted.
Germany has an elaborate social security system that sees to it that its citizens live comfortably even if they're sick, disabled, unemployed or retired.
In fact Americans see little difference between socialism and communism.  The difference is that communist government takes over control of mostly everything and almost always creates a police state, whereas a socialist government only runs those services that they decide is better for the good of all its citizens if they are run without a profit margin i.e. there is something obscene to profit out of another’s chronic illness.
I am not going to pretend that socialism is the answer for good government but in most cases it’s a darn site better than one run for corporate business interests.

Cari.

Billy always argues these kind of points with our neighbor simply by repeating like a machine gun "follow the money". He told me that some old bigwig in London named Baron Rosschild said he didn't care what puppet was on the throne because Britains money was controlled by him! Now they're all over the world and we're doomed!
Good poem though. I think you must be pretty smart!

If I were more than I am, I'd see things differently instead of the same all the time.

There is a common misconception that the monarch has political power in the UK. No, the Queen is a figurehead for the nation and for the Commonwealth but she doesn’t have any say in the running of the country other than occasionally offering her view on certain matters.
One thing I have found very worrying in the States is the evidence of rigging elections. If this is true then democracy becomes just a by word.
It’s irrelative whether your views come from the left or the right; one person one vote is the corner stone of democracy and any interference with that fundamental right is very disturbing because the only recourse left for masses is civil unrest on a massive scale.

Sometimes, a reply washes over the post:
quote:
"the only recourse left for masses is civil unrest on a massive scale".
To this I say, "exactly".

Great post ice and great reply Cari.

More feelings and fewer words please
