Fair to middlin' of nowhere

I remember when
a morning that
smelled of fresh rain
on a light breeze
filled with birds chirping,
would exhilarate me.
I was not uplifted
as I trudged
to the time clock
barely aware of
those scents and sounds
foreshadowing spring.
A body still groggy and laden
with winter hibernation
going through motions habitual.
Legs of lead
and a head of fog
were my traveling companions
this fine March morning.

Sorry Lori, my mistake. James has the best comments. There is nothing that anyone can challenge him on. Heh.Heh

my comment may be a little trite, but
"better than the alternative" . . . (but if it makes you feel any better that's pretty well my mornings, too, until I get a bucket or so of hot, black caffeine down me!!

I always have mornings like that Lori and always have! We don't have what some have but we've got our time and it ain't attached to no clock! After you had that nasty experience maybe you should have taken your time as your own! Good luck with it all!

If I were more than I am, I'd see things differently instead of the same all the time.

Yes, every year spring gives hope of one last summer, so why can’t we rejuvenate too, if only for a month or two?

Thank you my friends for letting me know how slow you all are in the mornings. I used to be a morning person. God help me I might have to break down a start exercising or something. ~L

Jimmy,
Don't tell my Dr. but I finally got my blood sugar back down this morning and that made me feel better. (imagine that) Jeeze, about the time I get my body all lined out and going the way it should, the shock will kill me! ~L
