Dedicated to one who needs sunshine in her life . . .

To live where the sun does not shine,
To be unloved and so maligned.
Tears can fall like a spring shower,
For to test us and our power.
Life gives us happiness and pain,
It gives us joy, it gives us shame.

My friend there is one thing I know,
We are never too old to grow.

Oh, yes, so true, Jerry.  Perhaps when we're old there's more drive to grow because ... not much time left.     I could do with some sun too but not the sun in the sky as we're suffering from a heat wave here at the moment.

Hah! You have hit it, with the "not much time left" thoughts, Honeybunch. Then again some of us are just bull-headed until the end.

Aren't you just a wise man, Jerry! And generous too, with this delightful offering of words.

When we think of how much time we waste in the blues and not loving ourselves! Bull-headed indeed!

I agree completely, Margherita . . . I am not quite as bull-headed as I was once. But I still retain some of it . . . Heh.Heh . . . Just wouldn't feel natural without it.

Love, Love, Love this!

Thankfully, we are never too old to grow!

I keep telling my wife this Jerry, when she says I move to fast for my age...sometimes I do, but I am just growing, and making sure that the doing of new things doesn't claim too much territory on my body.

Enjoyed your poem, especially the last two lines.

Hah! I hear you, Ice, about the new things claiming too much on our bodies, that's a given. Thank you for your colorful thoughts on my poem.

Jerry, you are right. Here I sit at age eighty four knowing for certain there is still more. More time to grow and learn and know.
I was up late yesterday reading and printing out more to the story I found on internet in 2004, before it was published. The Last Circle by a woman whose father was caught up in the Iran Contra troubles in Reagan's time.I found it was not published until 2010 and found so much more. Many writing in on a forum telling many more interesting details. There is always more to the stories told. Best to you all Jo

Yes indeed, Jo, there is usually a wealth of stories not told. Thank you for being here in my world today, I greatly appreciate that you are.
