we see them at night
foreigners that once were friends
walking darkened streets
giving into fear

It's easier to be fearful, completely oblivious to to what it does to one on the inside. It's born and raised in the mind. Bravery and courage come from the heart.

I believe fear is an 'affliction' JerryPat, that has become an epidemic. It controls the way people think and respond making us suspicious of one another.

By the way JerryPat, you got some ID?

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

Heh.Heh . . . Nope, don't carry ID . . . I learned to overcome fear when I spent two decades on the mean streets of this great(?) country. It served me well, and I must agree it dwells inside your heart.
