Fair to middlin' of nowhere

No school on Monday
that makes a six day Holiday.
So far no rain or snow,
the temperature is still above freezing.
Out west the flakes are falling,
the great big fluffy kind.
And here the mercury has dropped
just one degree.
I guess it will be a waiting game,
We’ll just have to wait and see.
In the meantime, what to do
when the world outside
is all slush and muddy mush.
I might just have to brave the elements
and make a short trip to the storage
for tubs of decorations.
I can play all day
dressing the house for Christmas.
I have too much
to put it all out at once.
So I must carefully pick and choose
which what will go where.
Leaving room for the have to’s
I put out every year.
I might even get some help
from a very tall elf
with nothing better to do.
He can set Santas on high shelves
don’t you know.
I’ll catch him and kiss him
when he hangs the mistletoe.

There are so many more holidays, and they last much longer I think than when I was in school.

You could be right about that. Just had some unexpected company drop by on their way to town to see if we needed anything. They visited for an hour! It was good to see them.
Turns out the winter storm missed us and we had a better safe than sorry situation. ~L

Bruce,
Does that "slice-of(Holiday)life" come with whipped topping? ~L

Pete, I'm a bah-humbugger myself for the most part. I'm also the worst procrastinator
If I put them up now I'll be sick of them by January. ~L
