If a dream dies
sans violently
but still engulfed in anguish,
uncomprehending
remorse, and
culpability.

Wistful dreams
become heartbreak hotel,
not seen,
ignored,
abandoned.

Some days a diamond
     Some days a stone

Both are hard and impermeable, like Cajun spirits.

Dreams are just dreams while
