I remember the one
who taught me with the gentleness of
deep, green clover

and n'er shall I forget the one
who taught me how she wanted to be touched
in the First Baptist Church pews

oh, the sweetness of the one
who wanted me to put my tongue inside her mouth
and her with a mouth full of chocolate

the fairest of them was the one
who taught me to catch high-flyin' moonbeams
make love to them, and set them free

but the one I'll not forget
is she who wore red and black flimsy things to bed
Satan's spawn? she smiled and said not

still, it was her
who taught me to go into the forest deep
and find a nice green switch

You have learned a lot from women...then carnally and now it seems in a more metaphysical way. Lucky for you, you believe in lifelong learning and you are apparently a good student. ~L

Good morning Lori, and yep, there are some women who tell me I am a good learner . . . Thanks for the read and comments, my friend.

Love the memories here . . . but LOVED the last line.  So fitting, and real.

huh, I don't believe it's merely the drink that's stirring the memories. Good ones always stay with us, and come flitting  by when you least expect it.

No, of course it isn't the drink, jjote. The ones who come to me in these later years are the very special one. Thank you so much for understanding that.

I see you are still hitting the mark, Jerry, nostalgic and honest as ever. I'm not back here to post poetry, but to apologise. I never asked you if you posted only about yourself to get on your case, but because I seem to do the same thing. Keep it up , Buddy, never meant to offend you.

Ahhh . . . I vaguely recall you asking me that question. Don't remember my answer to you. At any rate, everything is cool. Thanks . . .
