That pretty doll, so sad today- in mottled scraps of color-fade, Owns her shelf, on morose ledge- the world forgot its hardy pledge... To keep her close, and on display- so here she sits, alone, today. An ache, inside of hollowed cloth- grants fate its final, flawless toss. Despair erodes a driven need- (no small feat, she cannot bleed) Dreams she's gathered, ne'er unfold- She's told to sit, she's told and told... If one might come and dust away- debris' fine work in heart's decay, She'd paint a smile upon her face- and never need a shelf to pace... The world laps up her lifespan- on hungry shades of fade, The pledge so long forgotten- (plastic can't weep, anyway) Never will she soak her skin- with drops of life, on cotton blend. That pretty doll, a shell today- whispers aspire, solo at play, On shelf, designed to bide her luck- awaiting hands, to be picked up. Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

The ache in this one is near overwhelming. Can only offer hugs from from here, Tanya. That still beautiful doll is not made of porcelain I know, no matter what she's been told. porcelain doesn't fight anywhere near what I know you are capable of, and have already shown me. Your story isn't anywhere near over dear. You can and will write your own ending. Michael |

Devina I am embarrassed to find that Michael really knew of whom you wrote. My mind went to Poor old Raggedy Ann as I have my daughters all tattered and torn sitting on a Child's chair along with a few others that once belonged to my three daughters. I have sent a lot back to Conn. for the oldest daughter but there are still some sitting there just being patient for another's little hands to caress them. Enjoyed both for Michael opening my eyes and mind and my first interpretation> you are a brilliant writer. Best to you,jo |

Michael- *ka-thump...and hugs man. You are insightful into cuddles you know? I am touched to be on your list these days You know we both wrap in darkness well, see you there! Jo- Sweetest lady, I am humbled just to see you peek in (that's me jumping and waving!) I honestly did just intend to write about that doll, but my stubborn muse must pour pieces of herself/us in there as well Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

"Dreams she's gathered, ne'er unfold- She's told to sit, she's told and told..." While the whole of your work resonates deep within, this stance cuts the deepest. What a beautiful reflection of my current mind state and so eloquently written. Thank you! |
