In the sky,
with clouds rushing by,
drifts the moon,
Shimmering bright
on an early Spring night
it will be full soon,
Then descending
To another ending
That is only an endless dance
For with its demise
No one stops and cries
For tomorrow is another chance.

Or is it?

The show you know must continue,
Whether light or dark is in you,
After the fill it will begin to empty,
Equal in strength only briefly,
Then to continue
Away from the strength till it is gone,
As if the last note of a song,
Fading to memory.
And then it will begin as if sprung anew.

But it isn’t new, even if it’s super or blue
The same rock as before, circling once more

I thought and heard a song today,
If I knew the words I have forgot them,
It comes on me when things are a certain way
After full the waning will begin.
Its light inside me wants to stay.

Soon a full moon,
A glance starts a song playing,
It fades spirit stays.

Gloom

Nice to be reading you, gloom or not. And especially to see you are ok in BMore. MM

There's a lot of power in the pull of the moon.  Things not see but felt.  I know just what you are speaking of... wishing it would stay full just a bit longer.

I agree with Michael's take on the moon. There is something about it that gives our heart physical tugs without the image or the whatever which caused it.

I agree the full moon has its influences! I was nodding along with this piece. ~L

wax and wane...
You've depicted perfectly, the attributes of moon cycle to heart and soul/ ups and downs.
Lucky us,  to get at least one shot each month.

You gave the moon's "endless dance" a very deep philosophical meaning in this charming poem.
