Dreams slowly fade away
As the night begins another day
Lost in thoughts of what might be
I stumble to the next task at hand
Then another boring and bland
Finishing each only leads to more

Leads to more of the old same thing
It is all that finishing a night will bring
Dreaming toward those desires unattained
Will not the sands of time keep passing
Moments apart in vain attempts of grasping
Regrets are desires the have passed beyond.

Passed beyond, yet still in thoughts each day
Almost brings a smile as I struggle my way,
But in a step it is gone in the pain.
Back to rest to drift off of reality
To times of kisses and fantasy.
Dreams slowly just fade away

Gloom

Such a plaintive bit of longing and writing, and each line underscored the pain of separation and love lost in a unique and heartfelt way.

Vicious cycle tempered somewhat by fondness of memory...
