           The Enigmatic Snow

Would that I could pen one poem
in luminous and grand-immortal rhyme
writ large and sent upon the wind
in prayer to the silent, boundless sky,
were we have so often asked the why
of that which is and could have been,
in words to make love truly matter more
for her than all else she has ever known;
but here in the darkest passing of the storm,
when even the shadows hold their breath,
words and meaning seem lost forever, and
softly, softly, silent, and slow falls the
   enigmatic snow
deeply indifferent to our dreams.

Bruce, each day you are able to come up with words that seem to just get better. But one is just as sweet and as lovely as the other. How you manage this is beyond my small mind.Just know how talented you are.I hope you have a special book so many more can buy and share  these poems.Jo

... and, a most special thanks to you, Jo for your lovely thoughts and words.

If I 'pen' at all well it is because I have walked a 40-something Zen Tao (path of 'enlightenment')
with Nature as my quintessential teacher and muse; and because I have loved and lost the two
finest ladies in the history of the universe along the way. Hopefully, I have learned something therein?!
[I imagine the best writers have all known the greatest loves and losses]

Wonderful write, dear Bruce. But I disagree with your statement that the snow is indifferent to your dreams ... see how profoundly it inspired you!
