early morning gray fog
touches friend and foe alike
driving is hazardous at best
it slithers like a ghost
into all the rooms in the city
cascading down upon those asleep
street lamps lights
are muted and rather ominous
fog surrounds it in a gloomy flourish
over open spaces
it hugs the ground
a man looks down from high windows
at his ghost-white city
the fog
seems to catch and hold him
within its resolve
mesmerized by shadows
revolving within his thoughts

Jerry,
I found this to be most profound:
"the fog
seems to catch and hold him
within its resolve
mesmerized by shadows
revolving within his thoughts"

the fog is compelling, hard to avoid and not morph into , whether to fight against or to
submit to

I prefer the submitting route, Ema. Thanks for visiting my world.
