The culprits of time
and its wind song
stack high the first rush of last Spring
colors of credence
that gave definition

legends of pinks and vanillas
morphing fast beyond the bridge
to lost love and dead letters

with barely a brush stroke
of them, and of us, in the landscape

only the overage
of seasonal browns
laying down hauntingly
on autumn paths
on this morning of remember

I most definitely concur with Lori, your way with words is a marvelous thing, Emma.

Hauntingly beautiful in its melancholy, dear EmmaRose.

Exquisite, EmmaRose.  You always get to the bones of the matter, but you always paint bones with the magical brush of dreams.

You are truly a delight to read.  Your poetry is so soft and whispy.
Each word seems to cascade down the page with such a delicate flutter.

Pretty pretty poetry...
