On my way to the post office after church, and then on my way home, I had so much fun watching the leaves dancing in the street. I could almost hear that popular song of yesteryear. It was a delight! My enthusiasm prompted this...

Season’s Two-Step

dancing in the street
autumn breezes kickin’ ‘round
rockin’ in the wind
soft and rustley sound

blustery is the day
through the sunshine’s glow
as winter heads this way
it’s comin’ here, I know

the leaves face their demise
as year’s end joins the fray
I hear sweet autumn’s sighs
as leaves jive this day away

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Excellent.Loved it. I have a yard full of leaves and you helped me to see them again as they floated down. I never understood why people  dislike them so. Raking yes,  but really they replenish the earth. best to you, JO

thanks, latearrival, Jo!  We're supposed to get some lows in the 20's this week as opposed to our warm, warmer than usual autumn days of late. I pulled up my tomatoes today and am saving the "green" ones. some will ripen, some will go too far and some will be green tomato relish or salsa.  This fall has been wonderful in our county.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

thanks, Blues! It was good to revisit this after posting it the other day. Today, our ground is covered in an inch of white so there's leaves, no where in sight. sometimes I get stuck in the beat even though the inspiration outside is a "silent night" covered in beautemus white.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Thanks Redstart and Margherita for reading and your kind comments. And Redstart,  I enjoyed your spark of creation, too. Would like to "hear" more from your muse re. your jiving.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
