the knotted, gnarled old cypress tree
hundreds of years old
maybe more
stands alongside the bayou
a gnarled old man
stands 'neath the tree
what memory he has left
to dream
it is spent thinking about Elin
and happy days
passionate was their love
many hours
spent 'neath the old cypress
and the bayou's moon
gave solace
to their union
just relax, darlin'
this is the Big Easy
folks have a certain way
o' doin' things down here.*

Guess I'll have to check that movie out sometime, this isn't the first time you have referred to it. It must be a good one.

It was Ellen Barkin and Dennis Quaid.
