There's umbrage,
in loneliness
I feed off its sad
As an oxygen
laced with
Stubble of little glass
My unattainable muse
Photographic
In my mind's memory
Keeps me yearning
Exquisitely alive
And killing me
Mad
With desire

Hah! Sorry, should not have laughed at your plight. I was just thinking about my Muse deserting me from time to time and the feeling of hopefulness and agony I had. It'll show back up, this poem proves it already has started its comeback.

If they give you ruled paper write sideways.

shards left to the reader's mind?

Stubble of little glass

eerily gripping, I'd say, not sure your muse was unattainable

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
